TEHRAN, Sept. 26 (Xinhua) -- Iran's Defense Ministry spokesman Reza Talaei-Nik said on Saturday that part of the strategic capabilities of the country's armed forces had been deployed in secure environments and underground, according to the official news agency IRNA.
He made the remarks at a meeting in the northern province of Alborz while elaborating on the measures taken by the country to protect its defense capacities.
Talaei-Nik said, "In recent years, part of the armed forces' strategic capabilities has been deployed in secure environments and underground infrastructure. This has resulted in the failure of some of the enemy's calculations about the Islamic Republic of Iran's defensive power and arms production capacity."
He added that during the 12-day and 40-day wars involving Iran, Israel and the United States in June last year and February this year, the "enemies" sought to weaken the country's nuclear capabilities as well as missile, regional and naval power.
Talaei-Nik noted that although the wars inflicted some costs and damage on the country, the "enemies" failed to achieve any of their main strategic objectives and also suffered losses inflicted by Iran. ■
