TEHRAN, Sept. 26 (Xinhua) -- At least 11 people were killed and 24 others injured after a bus overturned on an intercity road in Iran's central Markazi province early Saturday, the semi-official Mehr news agency reported.
The accident occurred in Saveh County at 4:48 a.m. local time (0118 GMT) as the bus was traveling on the road, Mehr quoted Hamid Abreh Dari, an official with Saveh's emergency medical services, as saying.
He said emergency crew were dispatched to the scene shortly after the accident was reported, along with five ambulances and an ambulance bus.
All the injured were transferred to nearby hospitals, Abreh Dari said, adding that the cause of the accident was under investigation. ■
