Chinese President Xi Jinping on Thursday called for translating the new vision of a constructive China-U.S. relationship of strategic stability into action and finding the right way for the two major countries to get along with each other.
Xi made the remarks when meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump at the White House.
Xi pointed out that the exchange of visits between the heads of state of China and the United States in less than half a year is unprecedented in the history of China-U.S. ties.
Russia considers the European Union's (EU's) idea to transfer revenue generated by frozen Russian assets to Ukraine illegal and a theft, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said Thursday.
"We have repeatedly assessed these actions, we believe that they are illegal, we really believe that this is theft and we treat it accordingly. Nothing is changing in our position here either," Peskov noted.
Earlier in the day, Vladislav Maslennikov, director of the Russian Foreign Ministry's Department for European Affairs, said the EU has transferred 8 billion euros (9.1 billion U.S. dollars) in revenues from frozen Russian assets to Ukraine since 2024.
Britain returned 12 cultural relics and artworks to China at a handover ceremony held at the Chinese Embassy in Britain on Wednesday evening.
Rao Quan, China's vice minister of culture and tourism and head of the National Cultural Heritage Administration, joined the ceremony online. Chinese Ambassador to Britain Zheng Zeguang attended the event.
The Chinese side said facilitating the return of lost cultural relics to their countries of origin is a just cause that safeguards cultural heritage, respects the cultural rights and national sentiments of peoples around the world, and protects the heritage of human civilization.
China accounted for nearly three-fifths of industrial robots installed worldwide in 2025, further strengthening its position as the world's largest market for industrial robotics, according to the World Robotics 2026 report released Thursday.
A total of 354,000 industrial robots were deployed in China last year, up 20 percent from 2024 and accounting for 59 percent of global installations, said the Frankfurt-based International Federation of Robotics (IFR) in the report. The figure was nearly 60,000 units higher than the previous annual record.
"The success of China in modernizing its industrial system is based on its national robotics strategy, which was initiated ten years ago," said IFR President Jane Heffner.■
