JERUSALEM, Sept. 25 (Xinhua) -- Two Israeli soldiers were killed on Thursday when a crashed Israeli military drone exploded within their outpost in the northern Gaza Strip, Israel's state-owned Kan TV News reported.
The two, aged 24 and 23 respectively, were both combat soldiers serving in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF)'s 16th Brigade.
According to the report, the soldiers approached the drone after it crashed and apparently touched it, triggering an explosion that critically wounded them.
They were treated at the scene before being sent to a hospital in southern Israel, where they were later pronounced dead.
The IDF has grounded all attack and munition-dropping drones in every combat sector until an investigation into this serious incident is concluded, according to media reports. ■
