KATHMANDU, Sept. 24 (Xinhua) -- A Sita Air aircraft carrying 13 passengers from Nepalgunj lost its rear tyre while landing at Juphal Airport in Nepal's western Dolpa district on Thursday morning, police said.
The aircraft, with the call sign 9N-AJH, was landing at around 8:25 a.m. local time when the tyre came off.
"All passengers are safe and no injuries have been reported," Anil Raj Giri, chief of the Dolpa district police, told Xinhua. Of the total, seven of the passengers were foreign nationals.
The aircraft remained on the runway following the incident, preventing other aircraft from landing at Juphal Airport.
Authorities are assessing the situation and working to clear the runway, according to Giri. ■
