TOKYO, Sept. 23 (Xinhua) -- China's 13-year-old Yu Zidi claimed her third gold medal of the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games on Wednesday by winning the women's 400m individual medley in 4 minutes 28.56 seconds.
The teen took control of the race from the opening leg and steadily extended her advantage, touching the wall 3.95 seconds ahead of teammate Ke Wenxi, who took silver in 4:32.51. Japan's Mio Narita claimed bronze in 4:33.45.
By winning the women's 200m butterfly and 200m individual medley earlier in the Games, Yu completed her individual events in Tokyo Aquatics Center with three gold medals. She won the 200m individual medley in an Asian record time of 2:06.10 on Monday. ■
