BEIJING, Sept. 23 (Xinhua) -- China's top political advisor Wang Huning attended a closing gala of the seventh ethnic minority art festival on Wednesday evening.
Wang is a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference National Committee.
The gala featured various art forms, including traditional opera, children's theater, instrumental ensemble and dance, incorporating distinctive ethnic characteristics while reflecting contemporary life.
The performances celebrated achievements in promoting ethnic unity and progress, and expressed the shared aspirations and affection of people of different ethnic groups for the country and the Chinese nation.
The art festival ran from Aug. 18 to Sept. 23, featuring 48 productions across 114 performances at 14 theaters in Beijing. The number of productions reached a record high for the event, attracting about 180,000 viewers.
The sixth ethnic minority art festival was held in 2021. ■
