KUALA LUMPUR, Sept. 22 (Xinhua) -- Malaysia will strengthen cooperation in maritime research, science, technology, expertise exchange and marine ecosystem management with China, Malaysian Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability Minister Arthur Joseph Kurup said on Tuesday.
This cooperation will take place within the framework of the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries and is aimed at strengthening bilateral ties and enhancing cooperation in natural resource management and environmental sustainability, the ministry said in a statement following a meeting between Arthur and a Chinese delegation in the administrative capital of Putrajaya.
"Following the current haze issue, Arthur also recommended exploring cooperation in forest fire management and cloud-seeding operations by leveraging China's expertise and advanced technology," it said. ■
