BUENOS AIRES, Sept. 21 (Xinhua) -- A first-half strike from Jose Florentin gave Independiente Rivadavia a 1-0 win at Barracas Central in Argentina's Clausura tournament on Monday.
Paraguayan midfielder Florentin put the visitors ahead by heading in at the far post after Luciano Gomez's cross from the left flank.
The hosts controlled almost two thirds of possession but lacked a cutting edge in attack, managing only two shots on target for the match.
Independiente Rivadavia is now third in the 15-team Zone B standings with 17 points, five ahead of 11th-placed Barracas Central.
Elsewhere in Argentina's top flight on Monday, Lanus prevailed 2-1 at home to Estudiantes, and Aldosivi edged to a 1-0 home victory over Atletico Tucuman. ■
