BEIJING, Sept. 22 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.0 jolted South Sandwich Islands region at 2137 GMT on Monday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.
The epicenter, with a depth of 10 km, was initially determined to be at 56.46 degrees south latitude and 23.97 degrees west longitude. ■
