KABUL, Sept. 21 (Xinhua) -- At least three people were killed after the Pakistani air force carried out airstrikes early Monday in Afghanistan's eastern Kunar and Paktika provinces bordering Pakistan, Afghan media outlet Tolonews reported, citing Afghan government officials.
Najibullah Hanif, head of the Information and Culture Department of Kunar province, said an airstrike took place at around 3 a.m. local time in Nurgal district of Kunar province, killing three people and injuring several others. The strike also destroyed a building.
Local officials in Paktika province told Tolonews that two airstrikes hit at around 4 a.m. in Barmal district of Paktika province. No casualties have been reported so far. ■
