Houthis say 28 airstrikes hit Yemen as fighting continues on multiple fronts
Yemen's Houthi group said Sunday that 28 airstrikes had hit three provinces over the previous 24 hours, amid continued ground battles between the group and the Yemeni government forces across several fronts.
Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Sarea said in a statement that F-15 and Typhoon fighter jets operating from the Saudi air bases of Khamis Mushait and Taif carried out the strikes in Yemen's southwestern Taiz, northeastern oil-rich Marib, and northern Al-Jawf provinces.
Qatar says U.S. wants deal with Iran amid effort to resume talks
Qatar is working with the United States and Iran to resume talks, Qatari Foreign Ministry spokesperson Majed Al Ansari said Sunday, noting that U.S. officials have indicated that Washington wants a deal.
Speaking on the sidelines of the Qatar Economic Forum in New York, Al Ansari said Qatar had been exchanging ideas with Washington and Tehran over the past few weeks in an effort to restart negotiations.
Iran warns of "painful" strikes if U.S., regional countries make any mistake
Iran's main military command, Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, on Sunday warned that if the United States and certain countries in the Middle East make any mistake, they will be targeted by "painful" strikes.
The headquarters said in a statement carried by Iranian media that it has intelligence indicating that Washington decided at a recent meeting in Europe to resume actions against Tehran with the backing of certain regional countries.■
