NAGOYA, Japan, Sept. 20 (Xinhua) -- The Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) and China's tech giant Lenovo signed a cooperation agreement in Nagoya on Sunday, confirming plans to deepen long-term cooperation in areas including sports operations and technology innovation.
The two sides said they would explore cooperation across multiple sporting events, with a focus on the use of technology in event operations, media services and the experience of athletes and spectators.
They also plan to study applications of artificial intelligence in areas including athlete training, tactical analysis, coaching support and event management.
At the signing ceremony, the OCA said technology had become closely integrated with event operations, competition organization, transport and resource management, and that the Asian Games needed to continue adopting new technologies to improve services at future events.
Lenovo said the increasing digitalization of major sporting events was raising technological demands in event organization, real-time media access and fan experience.
The two sides said they would combine Lenovo's technology capabilities with the OCA's expertise in Asian sport to explore new applications of sports technology. ■
