ULAN BATOR, Sept. 17 (Xinhua) -- The launch ceremony for the Cyrillic Mongolian edition of a book on famous ancient Chinese poet Su Dongpo was held in Ulan Bator, the capital of Mongolia, on Thursday.

Co-translated by renowned Mongolian sinologists, the book brings the wisdom and literary charm of Su Dongpo, one of China's most celebrated literary figures, closer to Mongolian readers. Literally titled "knowing Su Dongpo at an early age," it vividly recounts Su's eventful and open-minded life, his timeless poems that have endured through the ages, and his optimistic and clear-sighted philosophy of life.

At the launch ceremony, guests from the cultural, publishing, and educational sectors of China and Mongolia gathered to discuss the significance of promoting classical culture across national borders.

In recent years, China and Mongolia have regularly organized cultural exchange activities, including book translation and promotion, new book launches, and joint reading sessions.

Participants noted that, amid increasingly close cultural exchanges between China and Mongolia, the translation and dissemination of classical works provide a direct and enduring means of communication, boosting the foundation of public support for friendship between the two countries.
