KABUL, Sept. 17 (Xinhua) -- Afghanistan's Ministry of Public Health has signed a memorandum of understanding with an Indian pharmaceutical company to promote domestic production of traditional medicines and deepen technical cooperation, the ministry said on Thursday.
Under the agreement, the company will support local manufacturing of traditional medicines, deliver both in-person and online training to build the professional and technical capacity of Afghan staff, generate skilled employment, and improve access to quality medicines. It will also establish a health facility in the country.
The ministry regards domestic pharmaceutical production, the development of skilled personnel and expanded collaboration with international firms as core priorities for strengthening Afghanistan's health system. ■
