SINGAPORE, Sept. 17 (Xinhua) -- Singapore's non-oil domestic exports (NODX) surged 46.2 percent year-on-year in August, extending a 24.1 percent increase in July, Enterprise Singapore said in a release on Thursday.
Electronic NODX jumped 131.8 percent, supported by robust demand related to artificial intelligence, while non-electronic NODX grew 12 percent.
Non-oil re-exports rose 53.3 percent year-on-year in August, extending a 51.3 percent increase in July. Both electronics and non-electronics re-exports grew by 68 percent and 32.9 percent, respectively.
Total merchandise trade increased 44.5 percent in August, extending a 38.3 percent rise in the previous month. Both exports and imports grew. ■
