RIO DE JANEIRO, Sept. 16 (Xinhua) -- At least six people were killed and 43 were injured in a collision between a tour bus and a truck Tuesday night in southeastern Brazil's Minas Gerais state, local authorities said Wednesday.
According to the Minas Gerais Fire Department, the bus with passengers and goods was on its return journey from Sao Paulo to Senhor do Bonfim, in Bahia, and the truck was coming from Conselheiro Pena, in Minas Gerais, after having delivered a load of cheese.
The bus driver reportedly lost control and crashed into the truck, causing both to overturn after the collision. Both drivers survived, while the injured were taken to nearby hospitals.
The identities of the victims have not been released and police are investigating the circumstances of the accident. ■
