COLOMBO, Sept. 12 (Xinhua) -- Sri Lanka will begin an agricultural census next month as part of the country's once-a-decade economic census, the Department of Census and Statistics said, as reported by local news outlet Newsfirst Saturday.
Director General of the department Shamali Karunarathne said training is underway for officials who will collect the data.
Agriculture, forestry and fishing accounted for over 8 percent of Sri Lanka's GDP in 2025, according to the department. ■
