Technology&Life | China's Jilin University makes advances in human-inspired bionic robots

CHANGCHUN, Sept. 12 (Xinhua) -- Currently, the bionic embodied intelligent robot team at Jilin University is conducting frontier research on bionic robots. Bringing together researchers from bionics, mechanics, materials, artificial intelligence, computer science, and information engineering, the team has carried out extensive biomechanical testing and modeling analysis, and pioneered the theory and technology of bionic tension-compression body robots internationally. It has developed bionic tension-compression dexterous hands, robotic arms, and complete robot systems.

"Drawing wisdom from the human body, we are using bionic tension-compression body technology to rebuild the industrial backbone of China's robotics industry, in hopes of truly equipping our robots with human-like dexterity and intelligence," said Ren Lei, academic leader of bionic robotics at Jilin University.
