RIO DE JANEIRO, Sept. 10 (Xinhua) -- At least three people were killed Thursday when a small plane crashed in a rural area of Agua Boa in Brazil's central-western state of Mato Grosso, local authorities said.
The three bodies were found burned among the wreckage and had not yet been identified. They were taken for forensic examination.
The crash occurred in the morning on a rural property about 18 km from the urban area of Agua Boa and 730 km from Cuiaba, the state capital.
The aircraft caught fire upon impact and was completely destroyed. Firefighters were called to the scene at around 8:50 a.m. local time and used about 4,000 liters of water to put out the blaze. Military police also responded to the scene.
The flight's origin and destination have not yet been reported, and the cause of the crash remains under investigation. ■
