TEHRAN, Sept. 11 (Xinhua) -- Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi on Thursday discussed escalating tensions in separate phone talks with his Saudi counterpart Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud and Pakistan's army chief Syed Asim Munir, said the Iranian Foreign Ministry.
The Iranian and Saudi foreign ministers pointed to escalating insecurity and tensions in the region, highlighting the necessity to continue cooperation and diplomatic efforts to prevent the escalation of tensions and restore stability and security.
During phone talks with Munir, Araghchi warned about the consequences of escalating tensions and insecurity in the region for regional peace and stability, stressing the need for vigilance and coordination among regional countries in light of the latest developments.
They underlined the necessity to use joint capacities to help ensure lasting peace and security in the region. ■
