KUALA LUMPUR, Sept. 11 (Xinhua) -- Regional cooperation involving the ASEAN grouping and China will be key to advancing resilient, inclusive and sustainable health systems for a shared future, Malaysian Health Minister Dzulkefly Ahmad said on Friday.

This will be especially important as the region faces a rapidly evolving health landscape shaped by emerging public health threats, climate change, demographic shift and accelerating technological transformation, Dzulkefly said in his opening remarks at the 10th ASEAN-China Health Ministers Meeting.

"As we commemorate this important milestone, we also recognize that our partnership is entering a new and increasingly consequential chapter," he said.

"Our task is therefore not only to respond to today's challenges but to anticipate what lies ahead. We must also ensure that our health systems remain inclusive, adaptable and sustainable, leaving no one behind," he added.

The meeting is part of the 17th ASEAN Health Ministers Meeting and Related Meetings.
