NANCHANG, Sept. 10 (Xinhua) -- A total of 16 people have been confirmed dead after rain-triggered mudslides and landslides struck Suichuan County in east China's Jiangxi Province, local authorities said Thursday.
Days of torrential rain caused a series of geological disasters in the county. As of Wednesday afternoon, over 18,000 residents of the county had been evacuated. ■
