LONDON, Sept. 9 (Xinhua) -- A man was shot by police on Tuesday after threatening a woman with a knife in Luton, a town about 50 km north of London, Britain's Independent Office for Police Conduct said on Wednesday.
The man was seriously injured and taken to hospital with "life-changing injuries," and the woman was also taken to hospital with stab wounds, according to the independent police watchdog in England and Wales. ■
