GENEVA, Sept. 7 (Xinhua) -- World Athletics announced Monday the final entry list for its inaugural Ultimate Championship, with 381 athletes from 65 countries and regions set to compete in Budapest from September 11 to 13.
The new championship brings together several of the world's top athletes in a three-day, finals-only format, with no preliminary rounds and a prize purse of 10 million U.S. dollars.
Olympic and world pole vault champion Armand Duplantis, men's 110-meter hurdles world record holder Ja'Kobe Tharp and women's 100-meter hurdles record holder Masai Russell headline the star-studded event.
Olympic champions including Gabby Thomas, Marileidy Paulino and Keely Hodgkinson, and world champions Melissa Jefferson-Wooden, Oblique Seville and Collen Kebinatshipi are also set to compete.
These champions will be joined by Diamond League winners and the year's best-performing athletes across 28 disciplines in the three-day competition. ■
