WASHINGTON -- U.S. forces on Monday sank a vessel in the eastern Pacific that allegedly served as a floating refueling station supporting illicit at-sea drug trafficking operations, the U.S. Southern Command (SOUTHCOM) said.
"Intelligence confirmed the vessel's involvement with the Los Choneros violent narco-terrorist organization," SOUTHCOM said in a statement on X. (US-Vessel-Pacific)

BEIRUT -- One person was killed and at least 10 others were wounded on Monday afternoon in Israeli airstrikes on southern Lebanon, the Lebanese Health Ministry said.
The ministry said in a statement that the strikes killed one person in the town of Al-Reyhan in Jezzine district and wounded nine others, including two children and three women, in the Al-Maslah neighborhood of Nabatieh city. Another person was wounded in Nabatieh al-Fawqa. (Lebanon-Israel-Strikes)

MEXICO CITY -- Six people died of suspected poisoning after a gas leak inside a public transport vehicle stranded by flooding in Tultitlan, in the central State of Mexico, local media reported Monday.
According to preliminary reports, the incident occurred Sunday night near the Cueyamil station of the Suburban Train, in an area hit by severe flooding, potholes and unpaved road sections, where traffic was restricted. (Mexico-Gas Leak-Public Transport)

OSLO -- European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen announced a 200-million-euro investment package for Greenland during a visit to Nuuk on Monday, aimed at strengthening cooperation between the European Union and Greenland.
The Global Gateway Partnership Package will support investments in Greenland in 2026 and 2027, the European Commission said in a press release. (Greenland-EU) ■
