ULAN BATOR, Sept. 8 (Xinhua) -- Mongolian President Ukhnaa Khurelsukh and his Montenegrin counterpart Jakov Milatovic issued a joint statement after their official talks in Ulan Bator, capital of Mongolia, on Tuesday to expand bilateral relations and cooperation, according to the Mongolian presidential press office.
The statement said that Mongolia and Montenegro agreed to further strengthen bilateral relations and cooperation in various fields, including trade, the economy, education, culture, science, media, and people-to-people exchanges.
The two countries also reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening their shared values and similar positions on foreign policy, as well as further enhancing cooperation within the United Nations and other international organizations.
Milatovic arrived in Ulan Bator on Tuesday for a three-day state visit at the invitation of Khurelsukh, accompanied by a high-ranking delegation.
This year marks the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and Montenegro.
Milatovic's visit marks the first visit by a Montenegrin president to Mongolia since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. ■
