HANOI, Sept. 6 (Xinhua) -- A woman and her two-year-old daughter were killed and two others seriously injured in a traffic accident in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam's southern hub, on Sunday, local media Tien Phong reported.
The accident occurred around noon in Binh Duong ward, when a car struck a motorbike carrying the mother and child, according to initial reports.
The impact threw the motorbike dozens of meters away, killing both at the scene. The car then veered off the road and crashed into a tree, seriously injuring the two people inside.
Local police launched an investigation into the cause of the accident, the report added. ■
