ANKARA, Sept. 6 (Xinhua) -- Türkiye has raised its inflation forecast for 2026 to 28.4 percent from 16 percent, while lowering its economic growth target to 3.3 percent from 3.8 percent, according to the country's new Medium-Term Program for 2027-2029 announced on Sunday.

Türkiye's tourism revenue has been revised downward to 65 billion U.S. dollars this year from the previous target of 68 billion dollars amid tensions in the Middle East, Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yilmaz said while announcing the program.

The inflation forecast for 2027 was also raised to 21 percent from 9 percent.

Despite the revisions, Yilmaz said the government remains committed to its disinflation strategy and price stability.

Türkiye has been grappling with persistently high inflation for years, especially since a currency crisis in 2018.
