RIO DE JANEIRO, Sept. 4 (Xinhua) -- Botafogo has reached a deal with Germany's Hoffenheim to sign center-back Arthur Chaves, the Brazilian club said on Friday.
The 25-year-old has joined on loan until late 2027 under a deal that includes an option to buy.
"Arthur is already training alongside his new teammates [and] ... his official presentation will be announced soon," the Rio de Janeiro outfit said on social media.
A former Brazil U-23 international, Chaves made 39 appearances across all competitions for Hoffenheim following his 2024 move from Portugal's Academico de Viseu.
Botafogo is currently 12th in the 20-team Brazilian Serie A standings with 30 points from 24 games. ■
