ISLAMABAD, Sept. 4 (Xinhua) -- Twelve terrorists were killed by Pakistani security forces during an intelligence-based operation in the country's southwestern Balochistan province, the military said on Friday.
The operation was conducted on Wednesday in Kalat district following reports about the presence of terrorists, the Inter-Services Public Relations, the media wing of the Pakistani military, said.
During the operation, security forces identified and destroyed a terrorist hideout, killing all 12 terrorists, the statement said.
A cache of ammunition and improvised explosive devices was also destroyed at the site, it added.
Sanitization operations are underway in the area to eliminate any other terrorists who may be present, according to the statement. ■
