BEIJING, Sept. 4 (Xinhua) -- Chinese stocks closed lower on Friday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.30 percent to 3,930.12 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index closed 0.79 percent lower at 13,516.97 points. ■
