BANGKOK, Sept. 3 (Xinhua) -- Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul urged global investors on Thursday to treat Thailand as a partner rather than a production site or sales market, previewing the pitch his government will carry into the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank Group Annual Meetings here next month.
In his keynote address at the Bangkok Business Summit, Anutin said Thailand's competitive advantage rested on a combination of industrial depth, regional connectivity, and the ability to link different sectors together, as well as being a country where global talent can thrive.
"Do not simply build in Thailand. Build with Thailand," he told delegates at the summit.
The prime minister said his government's responsibility was to make the country easier and more predictable for long-term investors through clearer rules, faster decisions, reliable infrastructure, and access to clean energy and digital capacity.
To that end, he said, the administration is reviewing more than 7,000 subordinate rules and regulations that may impose unnecessary burdens on people and businesses. ■
