MINSK, Sept. 3 (Xinhua) -- Belarusian Energy Minister Denis Moroz said on Wednesday that Belarus and China are actively engaging in high-level cooperation in the energy sector, yielding fruitful results and promising a bright future.
Moroz made the remarks in response to a question from Xinhua at a press conference marking the 25th anniversary of the founding of the Belarusian Energy Ministry.
Highlighting long-standing and positive interactions at both governmental and commercial levels, the minister said that the Energy Ministry will make every effort to ensure reliable energy infrastructure construction and deepen the alignment of Belarus's national development strategy with the Belt and Road Initiative.
China plays a significant role in the development of Belarus's energy infrastructure, he said, citing the turbine installation at the Minsk No. 5 heat and power plant as an example of the effective collaboration between the two nations.
Experience has demonstrated the high quality, reliability, and efficiency of Chinese technology and equipment, which have brought tangible benefits to the Belarusian economy, he added.
Looking ahead, Belarus stands ready to continue exploring new growth opportunities in energy cooperation with China, Moroz said.
He noted that the two countries have broad prospects for energy cooperation, citing the upcoming Mozyr power storage system project, which is crucial for enhancing the reliability of power supply to local refineries and regulating the power load curve. ■
