KAMPALA, Sept. 3 (Xinhua) -- Vipers SC head coach Denis Lavagne said Thursday that his team is well prepared to make a strong start to the 2026/2027 CAF Champions League.
Vipers SC will host Mauritanian Premier League champion FC Nouadhibou in the first leg of the first round on Saturday at St. Mary's Stadium in Kitende.
"I know we are going to face a good team with quality and experience, but we are focusing on ourselves and we are in good shape for the match," added Lavagne.
The French coach stressed the importance of securing a positive result in the first leg before traveling to Mauritania for the return fixture.
"It is another opportunity to showcase what we have, we are doing it against a very good side who were in the group stages in 2024," he explained.
Lavagne said facing a team of FC Nouadhibou's caliber would give Vipers SC an opportunity to demonstrate its quality on the continental stage. ■
