JAKARTA, Sept. 3 (Xinhua) -- Indonesia and Malaysia have agreed to strengthen trade and investment cooperation via the Joint Trade and Investment Committee ministerial meeting.
Indonesian Trade Minister Budi Santoso said the meeting has resulted in several mutual understandings and commitments.
The two sides agreed to strengthen trade and investment cooperation, improve implementation of the Border Trade Agreement and enhance economic connectivity in border areas. They also discussed market access, trade facilitation, investment, e-commerce, agriculture and halal standards.
Malaysian Investment, Trade and Industry Minister Johari Abdul Ghani said the Border Trade Agreement could facilitate economic activities between the two countries. He added that Malaysian businesses were prepared to comply with Indonesia's export proceeds repatriation policy for natural resources. ■
