ISLAMABAD, Sept. 2 (Xinhua) -- Pakistan remains hopeful for a diplomatic resolution despite recent escalations between the United States and Iran, Foreign Office spokesperson Tahir Andrabi said on Wednesday.
Speaking at a weekly press briefing, Andrabi said Pakistan would continue its efforts to promote dialogue and diplomacy between the two sides.
"Pakistan remains hopeful and will continue to strive for dialogue and diplomacy," Andrabi said.
He added that Pakistan would continue its efforts on the crucial issue of the Strait of Hormuz and still hoped that both sides would return to the negotiating table.
"Whenever both parties are comfortable to talk, a framework in Islamabad is ready to help restore peace," he said. ■
