SINGAPORE, Sept. 2 (Xinhua) -- Singapore-based Keppel DC REIT and Keppel Ltd. have agreed to acquire a 90 percent effective interest in two freehold hyperscale data centers in Inzai City, Japan, for 190 billion Japanese yen (about 1.22 billion U.S. dollars), Keppel said on Tuesday.
Upon completion, Keppel DC REIT will hold an 88.62 percent effective interest in each of Tokyo Data Center 4 and 5, while Keppel will hold 1.38 percent. The existing operator will retain a 10 percent stake, Keppel said in a statement.
The two data centers are 100 percent occupied by four investment-grade internet enterprise and information technology services clients.
The acquisition is expected to lift Keppel DC REIT's assets under management to about 7.6 billion Singapore dollars (about 5.96 billion U.S. dollars) across 27 data centers in 10 countries. Completion is expected in the fourth quarter of 2026. ■
