NEW DELHI, Sept. 1 (Xinhua) -- Six people, including three women, died and 14 others were injured when the vehicle they were traveling in rammed into a stationary truck in India's northern state of Haryana early on Tuesday, local police confirmed.
The victims were from the northern state of Uttar Pradesh. On a religious trip, they were returning from a temple in the western state of Rajasthan and were heading towards another temple in Uttar Pradesh when the accident occurred.
The injured were shifted to a local government hospital.
According to the police, the accident occurred because the driver of the vehicle had dozed off at the wheel. ■
