TEHRAN, Aug. 31 (Xinhua) -- Iran's army said on Monday that it attacked Al Minhad Air Base in the United Arab Emirates with drones, the country's state TV reported, citing a statement.
The army targeted the areas "where U.S. helicopters and personnel are stationed at Al Minhad Base" with dozens of drones, the statement said.
It added that the attack was in response to a U.S. attack Sunday night on Larak Island in the Strait of Hormuz, which killed and injured multiple military personnel and civilians. ■
