KATHMANDU -- Carried by two Y-20 transport planes, Chinese relief supplies and four Chinese rescue experts arrived at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, Nepal, at about 7 a.m. local time on Sunday to assist in disaster relief efforts.
The two aircraft departed from Chengdu, China, earlier in the morning and arrived in Nepal after a flight of about three hours. (Nepal-China-Aid)

KATHMANDU -- Nepal's National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority said that as of 6:00 p.m. local time on Sunday, 781 bodies had been recovered from mudslide-hit areas, with 2,502 people still missing.

TOKYO -- Japan's weather agency on Sunday issued its highest-level emergency warning for heavy rain for some areas in Fukui Prefecture, central Japan, amid reports of mudslides and vehicles stranded on flooded roads.

SEOUL -- South Korean President Lee Jae Myung on Sunday nominated new candidates for six government posts, including deputy prime minister for economic affairs and defense minister, the presidential office Blue House said.
