MOSCOW/KIEV, Aug. 29 (Xinhua) -- Three people were killed in the Belgorod region after a Ukrainian drone attack, local authorities said Saturday.
The regional emergency response center said that a woman and two men were killed in the city of Shebekino after ammunition struck a residential area. The strikes also damaged vehicles and residential buildings, it added.
The Russian Defense Ministry said its air defense forces had intercepted and destroyed 313 Ukrainian drones over Russian regions and the waters of the Sea of Azov and the Black Sea overnight.
At least 37 people were killed and dozens, including four children, were injured in a Russian attack on the Kiev region, regional governor Tymur Tkachenko said on Saturday.
He said Russian forces had struck warehouses in the Bucha district on Friday evening, triggering a huge fire and explosions.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on X that the fire caused explosions at the site, adding that a criminal investigation had been opened into suspected official negligence over the storage of ammunition near residential areas.
A day of mourning has been declared in the Kiev region for Sunday to commemorate the victims of the attack. ■
