RIJEKA, Croatia, Aug. 27 (Xinhua) -- Mexico's Mia Cueva Lobato claimed her third gold medal of the World Aquatics Junior Diving Championships on Thursday, while Russia's Kirill Kosimov edged Ukraine's Mark Hrytsenko in the boys' Group A 10m platform final.

Mia won the girls' Group B 3m springboard title ahead of China's Chen Xiangling, with her twin sister Lia Cueva Lobato taking bronze.

Leading Chen by 5.85 points before the final round, Mia delivered the highest-scoring dive of the event with 66.00 points. Chen and Lia each earned 63.00 points on their final dives to complete the podium.

It was the second time the three divers had shared a podium, having also finished in the top three in the girls' Group B 1m springboard on the opening day.

"I learned a lot during these junior championships, especially mentally," Chen said. "I learned that I can adjust myself during the competition, and that is important."

The boys' platform final went down to the last dive. Kosimov entered the final with a 17.85-point advantage over Hrytsenko, but the Ukrainian erased the deficit to draw level at 502.90 points before the final round.

Kosimov held his nerve to finish with 587.70 points, beating Hrytsenko by 3.80. China's Nie Jun recovered from an error in the third round to claim bronze.

Kosimov, who had already won the boys' synchronized platform title, said he had not expected to take the individual gold.

"When I saw that we had the exact same points, I just decided: either you do it, or you don't," he said.

Russia leads the medal table with five golds, three silvers and two bronzes, followed by Mexico with three golds, four silvers and three bronzes, and China with three golds, three silvers and two bronzes.

The championships conclude on Friday with the boys' Group B 1m springboard and girls' Group A platform events.
