GAZA, Aug. 27 (Xinhua) -- Three Palestinians were killed on Thursday in Israeli airstrikes targeting various areas of the Gaza Strip, according to Palestinian security and medical sources.
In the latest attack, a medical source from the ambulance and emergency services said a Palestinian was killed in an Israeli airstrike in the west of Gaza City.
Security sources told Xinhua that an Israeli drone fired at least one missile at a bicycle, killing its rider.
In a similar incident, a young Palestinian man was killed in an Israeli drone strike on the roof of a house in the Shati refugee camp west of Gaza City, according to a medical source at Al-Shifa Hospital.
In Khan Younis, in the southern Gaza Strip, a Palestinian was killed in an Israeli airstrike that targeted a tent sheltering displaced people in the coastal area of Al-Mawasi.
The Israeli military has not commented on the airstrikes.
Meanwhile, Mohammed Abu Afash, director of medical relief in Gaza City, said that between 300,000 and 350,000 patients are in dire need of medication, particularly for diabetes.
In press remarks, Abu Afash added that all areas of the Gaza Strip are in desperate need of medicine and laboratory supplies, noting that the quantities of medicine entering the strip are very limited and do not meet the needs.
Abu Afash called for pressure to be exerted on Israel to allow the entry of the medicines that are currently being blocked. ■
