JERUSALEM, Aug. 27 (Xinhua) -- Hezbollah launched two explosive drones at Israeli troops in southern Lebanon overnight, the Israeli military said on Thursday.
The military said soldiers shot down one drone near the Ali al-Taher Ridge, while contact was lost with the second.
No injuries were reported.
The military said its forces would continue operations against Hezbollah in what it calls a "security zone" in southern Lebanon.
A U.S.-brokered ceasefire in June reduced fighting between Israel and Hezbollah, but Israeli strikes in Lebanon have continued. Israeli troops also remain in territory seized during the latest war.
Lebanon has demanded an Israeli withdrawal, while Washington has also said a permanent Israeli military presence would be inconsistent with commitments under the June agreement. ■
