JERUSALEM, Aug. 27 (Xinhua) -- The Israeli military said on Thursday that it carried out strikes in southern Lebanon in response to earlier drone attacks against Israeli troops in Lebanon.
In a statement, the military said it targeted "Hezbollah infrastructure in the Nabatieh area in southern Lebanon," including Hezbollah weapon storage facilities.
According to the military, the strikes were carried out "in response" to the overnight launch of two explosive drones at Israeli soldiers in the Ali-Taher Ridge. No injuries were reported.
A U.S.-brokered ceasefire in June reduced fighting between Israel and Hezbollah, but Israeli strikes in Lebanon have continued. Israeli troops also remain in territory seized during the latest war. ■
