TEHRAN -- Iran and Oman on Tuesday exchanged views on a phased framework that includes the establishment of a temporary joint shipping corridor in the Strait of Hormuz and an agreement to implement a joint project to demine the waterway, according to a joint statement issued by the two countries' foreign ministries.
The statement was issued at the end of a visit by Omani Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi to Tehran, where he met his Iranian counterpart Seyed Abbas Araghchi, according to Iran's Foreign Ministry. (Iran-Oman-Hormuz)

ADEN, Yemen -- Yemeni government forces said Tuesday that at least 14 Houthi members were killed and 19 others wounded in artillery and drone strikes in the Red Sea port city of Hodeidah, hours after the country's leadership approved further measures to counter the group's escalating military operations.

DAMASCUS -- Syria on Tuesday condemned Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz's entry into southern Syrian territory during a visit to Israeli troops stationed there, describing it as a "blatant violation" of Syrian sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The Syrian foreign authorities said in a statement that Katz had illegally crossed international borders into Syrian territory, calling the move a provocation and a violation of international law, the UN Charter and the 1974 Disengagement Agreement. (Syria-Israeli DM-Condemnation) ■
