BEIJING, Aug. 26 (Xinhua) -- China's top political advisor Wang Huning on Wednesday urged members of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) to adhere to the principle of serving the people and assist the Party and the government in improving people's welfare.

Wang, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and chairman of the CPPCC National Committee, made the remarks while addressing the closing meeting of a standing committee session of the CPPCC National Committee.

Noting that realizing common prosperity is an important goal of socialist modernization, Wang called on CPPCC members to make more insightful suggestions and do more practical work for the people during the 15th Five-Year Plan period (2026-2030).

Political advisors should work to implement the decisions and arrangements made by the CPC and the Chinese government, and ensure that the achievements of China's modernization benefit all people more fairly, Wang said.

Wang also attended a plenary meeting of the standing committee session of the CPPCC National Committee on Wednesday. Fourteen standing committee members of the CPPCC National Committee spoke on the theme of ensuring and improving people's livelihoods.
