China's top anti-graft body vows higher standards, more concrete measures to advance its work

BEIJING, Aug. 22 (Xinhua) -- The sixth plenary session of the 20th Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI) of the Communist Party of China (CPC) was held in Beijing on Saturday.

Li Xi, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and secretary of the CCDI, addressed the session.

The session called for steadfastly following the Chinese path to combat corruption and advance the high-quality development of discipline inspection and supervision work in the new era, with higher standards and more concrete measures.

The session reviewed discipline inspection and supervision work in the first half of 2026 and made further arrangements to ensure the effective implementation of relevant tasks.

It called for strengthening political oversight, deepening political inspections, strictly enforcing discipline in leadership transitions, unswervingly improving conduct, enforcing discipline and combating corruption, and continuing concentrated rectification of misconduct and corruption at the people's doorsteps, to ensure the high-quality completion of all tasks for the year.

The session elected Zhao Shiyong deputy secretary of the CCDI, and Zhang Zhong deputy secretary of the CCDI and a member of its Standing Committee.
