After a three-and-a-half-month seasonal fishing ban, fishing boats set sail from Tanmen Port in Hainan's Qionghai on Aug. 16. The season-opening celebrations also brought together performers from China, Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia, highlighting the rich cultural ties woven across the South China Sea.■
